Travel by rail from England to Holland

Train from England to the Netherlands

Train service between the UK and the Netherlands

It is possible to travel from the UK to the Netherlands by rail, even directly. First you must make sure to take a train to London, to St Pancras International to be exact. That is where the Eurostar through the Eurotunnel (Channel Tunnel) departs for Brussels in Belgium and also to Rotterdam and Amsterdam in Holland. There are quite a lot of services to Brussels but only a couple of times a day to the Dutch cities I just mentioned. There is also the possibility to take the Eurostar to Brussels and then change trains: hop on the Intercity Direct (or the quicker but more expensive Thalys) service between Brussels and Amsterdam, via Rotterdam.

If you don't live in London and have to travel to the capital from other parts of England, Wales or Scotland you must first travel to London St Pancras International. Kings Cross station is right next to it and also Euston station is quite close by. It is only a relatively short walk away. When you arrive in Amsterdam or Rotterdam you can travel to a whole range of other destinations in the Netherlands.

Below you can find and book your train ticket from London to the Netherlands with NS International. There you can buy a ticket for the entire journey from London to your Dutch destination, not just Rotterdam or Amsterdam. The second button will refer you to the website of National Rail in England, Wales and Scotland. There you can find tickets and travel information about every rail service in Great Britain. You won't buy tickets on that website but will be referred to the website of the local train operator. There are a number of them. The third button will refer you to the website of the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) where you can find rail services in the Netherlands. All these websites can be read in English.
